CENTRAL CITY – Bill “Buck” Ervin Washburn, 94, of Central City went to be with his Lord on September 12, 2022. Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy Nell Washburn of 65 years; his sons, Chester “Chet” (Sally) Washburn of Central City, and Steve (Kim) Washburn of Gainesville, Florida; grandchildren, Seth (Kelsey) Washburn, Kristen (Neal) Allen, and Stephen Washburn; and one great-grandchild.
He was born to Chester Arthur and Mary Elizabeth Washburn where he was also raised in Fremont, Missouri. Bill was the last surviving of eleven children.
He served in the United States Army, military police in the Korean War for 6 and a half years.
Bill was a very talented builder and businessman and was a general contractor for 50 years. Some familiar local projects Bill contracted included (but not limited to) were the Muhlenberg County Senior Citizens Center, Super 8 hotel, Huddle House, Best Western hotel, the Merle Travis Music Center, and the Central City Convention Center.
