SACRAMENTO – Betty Carolyn Riley, 80, of Sacramento, born on November 1, 1944 in Muhlenberg County, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 with loved ones nearby. A graduate of Drakesboro High School, Betty married the love of her life, Joe Earl Riley on April 16, 1963. Together they built a beautiful life over 61 years of marriage. A dedicated homemaker and a devoted member of Station Baptist Church, Betty was known for her kindness, deep friendships, and the light she brought into any room. Among the many roles Betty had throughout her life, being a grandmother brought her the utmost joy. She loved the adventures and laughter shared with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them. Betty’s love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory and legacy of love will continue to shine on those she loved. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Merle Lucille LeGrand and Charles LeGrand; brothers, Charles “Buddy” and Gerald “Bo” LeGrand; a sister Shirley Arnold; and grandson-in-law, Daniel Bishop.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Joe Riley; sons, Terry (Becky) Riley, Les (Lisa) Riley; granddaughters, Erica Bishop, Sara (Blake) Miller, Jessica (Ryan) Ziemer, Linzie (Zach) Wells, Shelby Burden; eight great-grandchildren, Marybeth, Evan, Charlee, Riley Ann, Emilee, Lainey, Max, and Ellie; one sister, Mary Ann LeGrand Stokely; and two brothers, Jewell “Vicki” LeGrand, and James “Winkie” LeGrand.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2PM at Station Baptist Church with Bro. Dan Yeager officiating. Burial in Station Baptist Cemetery.
