BREMEN – Betty Ann Baker, 81, of Bremen, died Monday, August 1, 2022, at 6:15PM at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. Mrs. Baker was born October 25, 1940, in Daviess County. She was raised in Red Hill and attended Utica School. She was a homemaker and member of Red Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and James McCarthy; siblings, Wanda (Jay) Baker, James Earl McCarthy, and Donald McCarthy; children, Vanessa Holland, Iran Ford, and James “Jimmy” Ford; grandchild, Eric Vanover; first husband, Johnny Ford; and second husband, Claude Baker.

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Jeff) Vanover and Kimberly Baker Hobgood, both of Bremen; grandchildren, Daniel Holland, Christy Ford Bryan, Larissa Vanover Cooper, Jamie Ford Markwell, and Trevor Hobgood; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lisa & Kim I am so sorry for your earthly loss of your mother , God sent me to the hospital that evening of her passing he spoke to my heart all day about it , She worked very hard for Momma Gil when she cleaned for her , I was so blessed to be where I was suppose to be that evening thru the lord when she took her last earthly breath , God bless you both Love Joe Mack & Mischelle

I was so sad to hear of Aunt Betty passing away this am, but I know our time is limited and God only takes the best! I will always the treasure the fun times I had in Bremen as a child at your house, and later in life as an adult. I will never forgot how the day my Daddy suddenly passed away and you had your arms wrapped around me and comforted me. Fly high my sweet Aunt Betty! Kim and Lisa I will keep in my thoughts and prayers!

Prayers to you Lisa and Kim. Aunt Betty was such a wonderful Aunt! She loved her kids and her grandkids so much! I will always smile when I think of her. I am thankful for the times we had together and thankful for all talks we shared. She was a great listener and always gave me great advice. She blessed our hearts with her strong and courageous ways, wow was she strong and courageous! I will miss her. Prayers for you Kim and Lisa. Hugs and kisses Aunt Betty until we meet again.
