CENTRAL CITY – Barbara June Murphy Gossett, 90, of Central City, died Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 4:21AM at Maple Health and Rehab. in Greenville. Ms. Gossett was born October 21, 1934 in Nelson Creek. She was a member of First Christian Church, worked as a Med Tech for Clinic Pharmacy, and worked as a Telephone Operator for Bell South. She enjoyed traveling, and went on vacations to New York, out West, and Florida with her family. She loved to cook, and was always in the kitchen. She liked to sew and crochet. She enjoyed reunions with her telephone operators. She especially loved the time that she spent with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Trent; sister, Betty Williams; and husband, William D. Gossett.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sara Gossett, Susan (Mike) Nelson; grandchildren, Lori (Matt) Corne, Jonathan (Camellia) Nelson, Larra (Chris) King; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jacob, Emma, Addison, Gavin, Katelyn, Dawson, Collin, Madison, Christian; and sisters, Ava Nell Geary and Brenda Russ.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 9, 2025 at 1PM at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Dr. Chase Thompson officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
